Notes on the bio-pathology and techniques of storage-transport of fruits. Kiwifruit (part 2).

ABSTRACT :

 

Details are given of the principal postharvest diseases and disorders of kiwifruit, and techniques for storage and transport of fruits. The major pathogens are Botrytis cinerea, Penicillium expansum, Alternaria alternata, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Phomopsis [Diaporthe] actinidiae, P. mali [Diaporthe perniciosa] and Botryosphaeria spp. Disorders include spotting of the epidermis, white heart and hardening of the columella.
