Almond biometry. Methodological aspects.

ABSTRACT :

 

A method was developed using image analysis techniques for automated leaf biometry followed by multivariate statistical analysis to provide a quick and precise identification method for almonds. Principal component analysis carried out using 8 cultivars (25 samples of each) showed that the most important parameter for explaining overall population variability was leaf perimeter, followed by maximum length and leaf area.
