ABSTRACT :
Mango trees (cultivars Springfels, Ford and Tommy Atkins) at 2 locations were sprayed with 2000 p.p.m. GA3 30 days before harvest. After harvest, fruits were stored at 12 or 25 deg C for 25 days. GA3 application reduced soluble solids contents and percentage weight loss after storage and resulted in higher colour ratings. Tommy Atkins was concluded to be the best of the 3 cultivars tested. Storage at 12 deg did not cause chilling injuries in any of the cultivars.
