บทคัดย่อ

A method to quantitatively monitor water movement through floral organs.

 

A method to quantitatively monitor the amount of water and solutes arriving at the floral organs, in relation to the opening and wilting of gypsophila flowering stems was developed. The method essentially monitors the accumulation of an apoplastic tracer in the flower buds. This relates to the water movement in these buds. It was found that the method reflects flowering stem quality.
