บทคัดย่อ

Infection sources of the postharvest development of Alternaria rot of Abelmoschus esculentus pods were investigated. In field tests in Japan, A. alternata attacked old leaves of A. esculentus plants and produced numerous conidia on dying or dead tissues. These conidia were considered to be major sources of air spora in A. esculentus fields. Some isolates of A. alternata from Chinese radish and a Japanese pear and 1 isolate of A. brassicicola from Chinese radish seed also produced same disease symptoms. Typical symptoms developed on A. esculentus pods which were inoculated in the field after harvesting and storing at 10 deg C.
