Yields and fruit quality of plum trees in Tulare and Yuba counties, California, USA, were not improved by controlling late-season plum rust (caused by Tranzschelia discolor) with mancozeb or sulfur over a 3-year period. Accelerated postharvest leaf loss induced by disease did not appear to cause a decline in yields in the following year. Of mancozeb 80W and sulfur 92W, mancozeb gave the best control of plum rust.
