บทคัดย่อ

Promotion of postharvest increase in weight of rose (Rosa x hybrida cv. Mercedes) petals by gibberellin.

 

The initial postharvest increase in FW and DW of rose cv. Mercedes petals was promoted by placing in GA3 solution (20 mg/litre) for 24 h. This effect was measured in petals removed from flower buds 4 days after harvest and GA3 treatment, as well as in petals detached immediately after harvest. The GA3-enhanced increase in DW occurred in petals kept in both light and dark conditions. The promotion of dark fixation of CO2 by GA3 in addition to the previously described effects of GA3 on mobilization of assimilates in intact rose buds is proposed.
