Black rot disease on chilli fruits collected from various markets in the Warangal District, Andhra Pradesh, India, was found to be caused by 3 species of fungi Alternaria alternata, Curvularia lunatus [Cochliobolus lunata] and C. pallescens [Cochliobolus pallescens]. Pythium butleri, Botryodiplodia theobromae, Phomopsis equiseti, Rhizopus stolonifer, Fusarium semitectum [F. pallidoroseum] and Choanephora cucurbitarum are reported from chilli from Andhra Pradesh for the first time.
