บทคัดย่อ

Government policy on fishery agribusiness development.

 

The paper provides an overview of fisheries development in Indonesia, followed by a discussion on fisheries development policy. This includes discussion of fisheries production, the contribution of fisheries to GDP, exports of fishery products, fishery commodity consumption, employment, resource utilization, and problems involved in fish culture. The domestic and global market outlook for fishery products is promising. The orientation of fishery development in Replita VI is towards support for creating a sector that is advanced, efficient and strong. This will be done through improvement of labour productivity, poverty relief, optimal and sustainable natural resource utilization, and human resource development as well as improvement of science and technology absorption and utilization. Improvements in postharvest practices and fishery product marketing will also be sought. Small and medium scale processing industries will be encouraged by means of application of appropriate technology.
