บทคัดย่อ

Postharvest physiology, handling and storage of banana in India - a review.

International research carried out on postharvest physiology of bananas; factors affecting fruit ripening and storage life; regulation of fruit ripening and extension of storage life; management of postharvest rots; packaging; transport; storage; and export-oriented research is reviewed and research needs in India are identified. It is suggested that priority should be given to studies on fruit metabolism, cultivar differences, packing, transport, cold storage and handling procedures. Training growers, traders and exporters of bananas in improved handling procedures should reduce losses.
