บทคัดย่อ

Optimum harvest date of some apple varieties in the 'Rhineland' from 1989 to 1992.

The determination of optimum harvest date (OHD) by firmness (F), starch degradation (S) and soluble solids content (R) was studied in 1989-92 in the apple cultivars Gloster, Jonagold and Elstar. Starch degradation and the index F/(R x S) fitted best, but did not compensate for extreme weather conditions and single orchards. A new concept of earliest harvest date is suggested, which may be described by the effects 'end of regreening' after test picking and by 'fluorescence response to flash light'; these characteristics will be included in subsequent trials.
