บทคัดย่อ

Post-harvest handling of wheat and maize seed in Nepal.

Postharvest handling of wheat and maize seed in Nepal is briefly described, including seed production by contract growers; seed testing and certification; seed processing and cleaning; seed harvesting, drying and storage; and pests. Artificial drying is not common due to the lack of electricity and economic resources. The traditional method involves sun drying on a tarpaulin or mat. Wheat seed is stored from June to October and maize seed from July or August to February, usually in constructions made of locally available materials or, more recently, in metal bins.
