Development of this physiological disorder of apple in storage, favourable factors (i.e. climatic conditions, agrotechnical factors, mineral composition of soil, fruit size, fruit maturity and effect of ethylene), preventive measures, such as the use of diphenylamine and controlled storage conditions, are discussed.
