Seasonal effects on market diseases of 43 types of fruits and vegetables were recorded from the district of Birbhum, West Bengal, India. Various diseases were found within a fixed period in a year. The percentage incidence of individual pathogens causing different diseases of fruits and vegetables was evaluated. The highest disease incidence was noted in Jun.-Oct. and the lowest in Mar.-May. Each crop carried one dominant pathogen inducing the highest disease incidence. Disease intensity was greatly affected by seasonal variation.
