Fungicide interventions against moniliosis of peach.

Field studies in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, during 1989-95 confirmed that fungicide interventions given at various intervals before harvest only gave partial control of the development of rots caused by Monilinia laxa on peach fruits after harvest. The best results were obtained with 2 fungicide applications carried out in the last 2 weeks before harvest, preferably using 2 different active ingredients (eg. esaconazole and triforine, applied 13-14 and 7 days before harvest, respectively) to avoid an accumulation of residues on the fruits and the possibility of exceeding the permitted tolerance limit of residues.
