บทคัดย่อ

Some interesting post-harvest diseases of cucurbitaceous vegetables and their management.

Some postharvest diseases of cucurbit vegetables are described and crop losses were estimated. Some of the innovative methods of management such as employing volatile compounds which control the infection and fruit-rot, also increase the storage life of Coccinia. Benzene and toluene protected Coccinia fruits from infection by Rhizoctonia solani and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]. Post-infection treatments were more effective than pre-inoculation treatments. Hot water (50 deg C) treatment for 30 min. was effective in controlling fruit rot of Coccinia by both the pathogens.
