บทคัดย่อ

Effects of vibrational stress on the senescence in peach fruit.

Peach fruits were subjected to vibrational stress and effects on physiological parameters during storage were assessed. Vibrational stress increased respiration rate and also stimulated the general process of fruit senescence. Effects included decreased superoxide dismutase and increased lipoxygenase activities, increased ethylene and malondialdehyde production and increased membrane permeability. These results provide a physiological explanation of why transportation often hastens the deterioration of postharvest fruit quality.
