บทคัดย่อ

New strategies in the post-harvest protection of peaches.

Monilinia laxa is a serious disease of stored peaches in Italy, and control is only permitted before harvest. Considering the inadequacy of pre-harvest control, which is mainly conditioned by local and national regulations, a new approach to the problem is necessary, aimed at delineating the principles of a different control strategy. The current state of knowledge on M. laxa is critically analysed with regard to the epidemiology and pathogenicity of the organism, preventive agronomic measures and new strategies of control. It is concluded that there is an urgent need for post-harvest control with pesticides, as is the case in other countries.
