บทคัดย่อ

Four trials were carried out during 1996 to determine treatments which reduce the postharvest problems of mango cv. Heidi fruits. A controlled atmosphere trial, a picking/pedicel sealing trial, a bruising trial and a preliminary survey of the chemical composition of fruits from different localities with variable storage potentials were conducted. It was shown that the following should be undertaken to promote fruit quality. Plant fertilization and irrigation practices should be planned for fruit quality. Fruits should be harvested mature but as green as possible. Fruits with little blush should be avoided as yellow-skinned fruits show lenticel damage more clearly. The normal picking procedures appeared to be adequate. If a hot water bath treatment is considered, treatment for 15 min at 40 deg C is advisable. Normal prochloraz treatment is adequate. Coating with an appropriate wax is essential. Storage temperature should be 12 deg . If controlled atmosphere storage is used, the best combination i
