This study of grain storage training for rural women was carried out in Shahpur village, Hisar district, Haryana, India [year not given]. Of the 200 women initially selected, 50 identified as having a high level of involvement in postharvest operations were selected for training. Training took place over a 10-day period and was imparted with a combination of media (photographs, slides/commentary with discussion, models, charts and specimens, and leaflets). Impact was assessed after training. Effectiveness of different media was measured in terms of how well it captured attention, aroused and sustained interest, and helped in assimilation of knowledge, as measured on a three point continuum. A combination of media with lecture was found to be helpful in retaining and sustaining attention, interest and knowledge and also helped to clarify the message. The estimated impact assessment index was 48.8%.
