The subject is reviewed with regard to analytical methods for mineral elements in apple fruits, distribution of mineral elements in fruits and their redistribution during storage, and the relationships between mineral elements, fruit quality and physiological disorders during storage. It is believed that high quality fruits usually contain high K and Ca contents, and lower Cu, Zn and Mn contents; the occurrence of bitter pit is closely related to Ca content, but it is also associated with many other factors.
