Advanced chemometrics-based near infrared spectroscopy and its applications in post-harvest quality evaluation of cereals, vegetables and fruits.

Recent, advanced chemometrics-based, postharvest applications of Near InfraRed (NIR) spectroscopy are identified in addition to the non-linear calibration techniques recently introduced. Opportunities are also reported for developing real time systems for on-line quality and sensory evaluation: the central role of modern chemometrical techniques is emphasized.
