บทคัดย่อ

Modified/controlled atmospheres for avocado (Persea americana Mill).

Research on modified atmosphere (MA) and controlled atmosphere (CA) storage of avocados is reviewed. The optimum atmosphere composition for long-term storage is about 2-5% O2 and 3-10% CO2. These atmospheres delay ripening and reduce chilling injury. Avocados are currently not stored in MA or CA, but their use during long-term sea transport is increasing. Avocados are very sensitive to insecticidal atmospheres.
