บทคัดย่อ

Effect of holding solutions on cut anthurium flowers.

The effect of holding solutions containing AgNO3, BA, CCC [chlormequat] and sucrose on the postharvest life of cut flowers of Anthurium cv. Agnihotri was studied with respect to physiological loss in weight, water uptake, electrolyte leakage and total vase life. Compared with flowers held in tap water CCC extended vase life by 1-2 days. BA at 25 ppm produced the longest vase life of 22 days. AgNO3 or sucrose had no effect on vase life. Flowers kept in tap water lasted for 15 days. Water uptake and electrolyte leakage were directly correlated with vase life. Criteria for evaluating vase life of Anthurium are listed.
