The role of refrigeration in worldwide nutrition.

Following a brief analysis of world food supply and demand, the role of refrigeration in world nutrition is examined. The main advantages of refrigeration are identified as: reducing post-harvest food losses; improving food safety; improving food supply to cities; and offering opportunities for global trade.
