บทคัดย่อ

Post-harvest fish loss has been identified as a serious problem in the seafood industry. Appropriate cost effective interventions and controls have to be introduced to prevent losses. An innovative software has been designed to cost these control options and to enable a business to evaluate the options available and thus find an appropriate control measure. The main steps in the development of the software are described: (i) establish a standard protocol for costing controls and monitoring options; (ii) construction of a pilot database; (iii) collection of cost data; (iv) refine the database; and (v) verify the accuracy of cost predictions.
