บทคัดย่อ

Productivity of sugar.

India is now the largest sugar producer in the world, reaching 16.5 Mt in 1996. However, productivity within the sector remains low. The Indian productivity situation is compared with other major producers: Hawaii, Australia, South Africa, Mauritius and Columbia. Factors which could be addressed to improve productivity are examined, including land, sugarcane varieties, pests and diseases, and harvest and post harvest management.
