C. undulaefolia [C. infundibuliformis] cv. Delhi flowers were sprayed with CCC [chlormequat], kinetin or triadimefon, each at 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 ppm, either one day before or immediately after harvesting. Preharvest sprays of 5 or 10 ppm CCC and all concentrations of kinetin and triadimefon increased maximum longevity by at least one day compared with untreated controls (from 4 to 5 or 6 days). Of the postharvest sprays, 5 and 10 ppm CCC, 15 ppm kinetin and 15 ppm triadimefon increased longevity by 1 or 2 days, but all the other treatments reduced it by one day. Flowers given postharvest sprays tended to dry out more quickly than those given preharvest sprays.
