Control trials against Monilinia laxa on plum in Romagna.

Experiments were conducted in Romagna, Italy, in 1996-97 to determine the possibility of containing postharvest infections of Monilinia spp. on plum (cv. President) by effecting pre-harvest fungicide treatments. Tebuconazole, compared with bitertanol and triforine, showed a constant and superior activity against Monilinia laxa on the fruits, especially when applied once at 7 days before harvest, or twice at 15 and 7 days before harvest. In addition, tebuconazole had a collateral effect against rust (Tranzschelia pruni-spinosae) on the leaves.
