บทคัดย่อ

Influence of silver on postharvest physiology of tuberose cv. Double.

In trials carried out in 1991-92, the presence of AgNO3 in the vase water led to decreased vase life of Polianthes tuberosa cv. Double spikes compared with controls. Spikes kept in distilled water lasted for 11.00 days while the spikes kept in silver solution lasted for 6.6 days. Silver nitrate reduced water uptake and increased the ratio of water loss to water uptake, accelerating the fresh weight loss of the spikes.
