บทคัดย่อ

Studies on the storage of onion (Allium cepa L.) as affected by different concentrations of maleic hydrazide.

An experiment was conducted at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1994-95 to study the effect of preharvest sprays of maleic hydrazide (MH; 1000-4000 ppm) on the postharvest storage life of onion cv. Pusa Red. Seedlings were transplanted on 1 January 1994 and 15 January 1995. MH was applied 15 days before harvest. Bulbs were stored at RT after curing. MH at 4000 ppm was the most effective treatment for controlling sprouting, rotting and total weight loss during 160 days of storage.
