The development of fenhexamid 50 WG for the control of Botrytis cinerea (grey mould) on soft, cane and bush fruit crops in Great Britain.

Results are presented from field trials in the UK on strawberries, raspberries and black currants. A rate of 750 g a.i. fenhexamid/ha, applied as a programme of treatments from early flowering, demonstrated good control of B. cinerea on all crops, and was at least as effective as the commercial standard treatment. Fenhexamid programmes also gave good reduction in postharvest and storage rots in all 3 crops. Efficacy of fenhexamid was independent of the water volume used within the range of 500-2000 litres/ha. Processing did not affect the taste of fruit produce from treated crops.
