Storage fungi are the major factor causing soyabean deterioration which causes substantial losses to processors. Different varieties may have different resistance to the development of all or some fungi. Three varieties, Stine 2170, Kruger 2625 and Pioneer 9304, were hand harvested and stored at 22% moisture content and 26 deg C. No differences were found in CO2 evolution but significant differences were found in free fatty acid development among the 3 varieties.
