South African experience with Fuji.

An overview is given of Fuji apple production in South Africa by referring to research findings and practical examples from South African producers. The discussion covers the following aspects: climate and environment, cultivars, maturity indices, postharvest handling and storage disorders, orchard systems, rootstocks, tree training and pruning, nutrition and irrigation, crop load management, fruit colour enhancement and packing and marketing.
