Marketing problems for Moroccan dates are mainly due to irregular production, poor choice of cultivars, crop damage caused by insect pests and plant pathogens, poor crop quality (due to traditional harvesting and drying methods), lack of postharvest treatment, insufficient organization of marketing process, and intensive market competition of imported dates.
