บทคัดย่อ

Postharvest deterioration of juice quality in the new sugarcane cultivar Ni12.

Juice from sugarcane cv. Ni12 was compared with that of other cultivars and its postharvest deterioration investigated. Cane sugar contents in most crops in Kyushu were higher in cv. Ni12 than in 3 other cultivars but at other sites the level was greater in cv. NiF8 than in Ni12. Correlations between cane sugar contents and juice sugar and juice reducing sugars were higher in cv. Ni12 than in cv. NiF8 or NCo310. Juice sugar contents increased after harvest while the reducing sugar content decreased from October to a very low level in January.
