บทคัดย่อ

Efficacy of Candida oleophila strain 128 in preventing Penicillium expansum infection on apricot fruit.

Isolated extracellular polymers (EP) of C. oleophila inhibited in vitro spore germination and germ tube elongation of P. expansum and inhibited infection when applied to surface wounds of apricots (cv. Amaar) inoculated with the pathogen. The effect of a prestorage dip in yeast suspension or surface coating with EP alone or in combination with thiabendazole (TBZ) on control of natural infections following storage was also examined. The effect of the yeast treatments was comparable with a low concentration of TBZ; treatment with EP + TBZ (200 ppm) gave the best control.
