บทคัดย่อ

Horticultural research and development at Taiwan Sugar Research Institute.

Research over the last 10 years at the Taiwan Sugar Research Institute on ornamental plants (including woody ornamentals and ornamental bulbs) is described, with particular reference to Anthurium (for cut flowers), Phalaenopsis and Cymbidium. The research included cultivar trials, breeding, development of cultivation techniques, disease and pest control, automatic control of the greenhouse environment, establishment of mechanized operation systems, and postharvest handling. A model for commercial production of Phalaenopsis has been developed and research on 2 recently selected ornamental bulbs (Lilium and Gladiolus) for inclusion in the programme is outlined.
