Benomyl, chlorothalonil, methyl-thiophanate [thiophanate-methyl], mancozeb and iprodione were tested in vitro and in vivo against Alternaria tenuis [A. alternata]. In vitro, conidia germination of A. tenuis was completely inhibited by chlorothalonil, mancozeb and iprodione. Iprodione and mancozeb inhibited mycelial growth. In vivo, iprodione was the most effective fungicide for controlling apple rot caused by A. tenuis during apple storage.
