บทคัดย่อ

Effects of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) on the vase life and the response to emasculation of cut Cymbidium flowers.

 

The postharvest response of cut Cymbidium flowers to 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) pretreatment was investigated. At concentrations above 15 nl/litre, 1-MCP markedly reduced fresh weight decrease and ethylene production of the inflorescence and florets of cut Cymbidium flowers. It also inhibited premature senescence caused by emasculation, which frequently occurs during transport.
