Fruits of strawberries cv. Sequoia were immersed in 0. 0.5 or 1.0% CaCl2 solutions for 5 min, air dried, then stored at 4 deg C and 90 plus or minus 5% RH on PVC-covered plastic trays. CaCl2 did not significantly affect the physical or chemical characteristics of the fruits.
