Anthracnose, caused by Glomerella cingulata, is the most prevalent postharvest disease of mango in humid growing areas. The symptoms, epidemiology, and management, including field control and postharvest control, are discussed. As the anthracnose system is rain-moisture driven, it is concluded that fruit development during rainy seasons should be avoided since numerous preventive fungicide applications in the field are required to obtain acceptable fruit, even for low-standard local markets.
