บทคัดย่อ
A method is described, which measures the contents of ethylene, acetaldehyde and other volatile compounds in various plant organs. Fruits or other plant organs are placed into a 500 ml chamber through which an air current of 50 ml/min is directed. The weakness of the air current allows the establishment of an equilibrium of volatile compounds between fruit and air. The volatile compounds are then adsorbed onto a Carbosieve column, and subsequently desorbed and measured chromatographically. Results of trials with apples and onions are described.
