บทคัดย่อ

The postharvest diseases of litchi and the utilization of antagonists.

The following are discussed: the importance of disease control for keeping litchi [Litchi chinensis] fresh; the leading postharvest diseases of litchi and their control; the utilization of biological control agents and antagonists for postharvest litchi control; the problems of using antagonists for control of storage diseases; and the prospect of using antagonists for keeping freshness of litchi after post harvest. It is indicated that certain Bacillus spp. isolated in South Africa have the potential for use in litchi disease control.
