Current status of onion and garlic research in India and future prospects.

This paper discusses the current status of onion and garlic research in India, with emphasis on genetic improvement and release of high-yielding cultivars, improved agricultural techniques, effective pest and disease control measures, seed production and postharvest technology. Future thrusts of research are also identified.
