บทคัดย่อ

The effect of postharvest application of ethephon on changes in peel colour of orange cv. Hamlin and Baianinha was studied. The fruits were soaked in solutions of 1000, 2000, 3000 or 4000 mg ethephon/litre for 5 or 10 min. The amount of skin chlorophyll, total soluble solids, texture and visual analysis were evaluated after 72 h. Ethephon reduced peel chlorophyll content at all concentrations, but high concentrations caused skin necrosis. It is concluded that 1000 mg/litre was the best concentration for decreasing peel chlorophyll content.
