The effect of postharvest treatments, alone or in combination with gamma radiation, on the storage life of lemon was studied. The highest physiological loss in weight (46.28%) was recorded in the control while the lowest (27.05%) was recorded in hot water + bavistin + radiation treatment. In addition, physiological loss in weight increased with an increase in storage period. On the 85th day of storage, the control fruits showed the highest decay (49.67%) while combined treatment of hot water + bavistin + radiation showed the lowest (19.33%). The various treatments, period of storage and their interaction had no significant effect on the length and breadth of fruits and thickness of the rind. Hot water + bavistin + radiation recorded the lowest reduction in fruit size and rind thickness whereas the highest reduction was recorded in hot water and control treatments. The fruits treated with radiation or combined radiation had slightly lower total soluble solid values than the other treatments. The period of storage had a significant effect on acidity.
