Effect of CA storage on active oxygen metabolism in Chinese bayberry fruit (Myrica rubra).

Storing Chinese red bay berry (M. rubra) fruits in 85% N2 delayed the decrease in superoxide dismutase, L-ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase (NAD(P)H) activities. Malonaldehyde remained at a low level and the production rate of metabolic oxygen products was inhibited.
