Investigations were conducted in the Ukraine to study the level of sucrose losses in sugarbeet during different periods of storage. Data are tabulated on losses of sugarbeet roots damaged by rot and as the result of respiration during storage for 14, 25, 40 and 65 days. A diagram is included on the effect of temperature on respiration intensity of sugarbeet roots. Data are tabulated on the formation of rotted tissue in roots with significant mechanical damage during different periods in storage. An antiseptic agent (Septodor) was developed to control storage rot caused by Botrytis cinerea.
