Quality improvement embodies the need for change implying that the firm must “learn” the activities to be implemented for the new quality goals. Quality assurance systems (QA-systems) such as ISO 22000 standards including HACCP, ISO 9000 standards, combined systems such as BRC, IFS and EUREPGAP, furthermore ISO 14000 standards, are also the bases for quality improvements. Handling these documents electronically is far more effective, faster and more cost saving than the paper based version; furthermore it makes easier the teamwork support.
The paper is focusing on description of a software package developed for QA-systems mentioned above. The software package is grouping the information as it follows:
(1) Document library (4) Assessment of suppliers
• Quality Manual• Supplier list
• Quality Procedures• Supplier’s products
• Work Instructions• Supplier’s classification
• Printed Forms (5) Measuring instruments
• Other Internal Regulations• Measuring instrument list
• External documents• Storage place
• Modification needs• Recertification date
(2) Management surveys (6) Administration
• Quality goals• Software adjustment
• Quality reports• Action plans
(3) Internal and external audits
• Annual audit plan
• Audit checklist
• Audit reports
• Audit non-compliance reports
• Audits
Structure of Quality Manual of each QA-systems is based on ISO 22000 standard. From Quality Manual all other documents are accessible. For request documents can be updated and computer records the procedure history containing identification number, author and date of issue for updated version of each document. The documents can be electronically sent to persons having authority to survey, comment, approval or issue. The documents can be printed too. The paper shows software developed particularly for Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) Production and Post-harvest Handling by EUREPGAP standards.
